[Editors Note: After featuring on these e-pages the simple invention of a building block flower pot hangers, patented at her expense, by a Redmond, Oregon housewife, only to have a Chicago-based, cigar chewing, backroom boy, walk off with the whole thing to China—proving to us that even those posing as venture capitalists, claiming to know how to work the system, are into flipping out our country's business for a quick Industrial Age profit—it became apparent that our readers, who did not respond to a non-stock market investment opportunity—need more than the standard dog and pony story.

We decided to invite a way, way, off Wall Street guest "talking head" columnist to share a little business wisdom, instead of our running one of the hundreds of "free insider information" style press releases clogging our e-mail box.

It may be necessary, as a financial focused publication, to disclose that Dan is an "outside in" observer. He got the name "Silver Dollar" for his habit of paying for things with "hard money" that "rang out a true value" when flipped onto a counter. Dan had to give this up when the daily quoted price of silver made it too expensive when substituting paper—worthless stock certificates, or "dollars that supposedly are protected by a trust in God, who is apparently these days, an endangered species!"

The only initials after old Silver Dollar's name on his business card is GS, for grade school, the highest level of ìregurgitated textbook learning he reached. That is if a reader doesn't believe in the accreditation of the CILL (College of Independent Learning & Life) proof of Danís GS (Getting Smarter) every day validation. Dan feels that out West, where men (and their tougher than nails wives) still work for their daily bread—instead of playing Monopoly with peoples lives—that his Getting Smarter is a better measure of real worth of a person than a BS, MS, PHD that translates to a Bullsh_t, More of the Same, Piled Higher and Deeper, or a practicing LLB, a "Low Life Demigod," and the completely stupid SSB, which sounds nasty (You S-S-B), but really translates into lack luster, "Self Serving Bureaucrat."
