Page 3 of 7Having witnessed it all in my long, long life, I am wondering that since America has crossed over the line into negative savings —staying alive by borrowing from what used to be the poor Chinese—is it true that the American dream, let alone century, has come and gone? It certainly is true that our ruling class has very subtly rewritten our laws promulgated for the public good. Who, in this nation of laws, is in charge of the "common good?" Lawyers! We are ruled by lawyers whose main purpose to create full employment —at blackmailing rates—for their fellow members of the bar. Julius Caesar, before he was stabbed in the back, proposed outlawing all lawyers. What a great idea! Or at least ban them from running for public office. Following the trail of money and power—in light of government lawyers "forgetting" to put a royalty clause in a monopolistic contract with big oil for Gulf Coast leases; of the big city investment bankers/stockbrokers/Wall Street lawyer cartel using PAC purchased SEC regulations to squash competition; even of a Vice President who has a ignored my advice that elected representatives not financially benefit from their position by earning $8 million—even if donated to charity—from their "blind?" holding of Halliburton, the only ones financially benefiting from our war in Iraq—I would like to suggest that the people truly can fire these high priced, over-paid, investment workers. You are the one in control of—other than the inadequacies of the self-serving lawyer manipulated tax system—in how you invest. |
